We will be reading a book about this creature. Consider:

  • What might a story of the creature you saw yesterday be about?
  • What sort of creature is this?
  • Do you know any other monsters like this?

Now look at the front cover of the book (see below). Read the title and talk about how this may change what we think of the Beast. Think about what it means to be lonely and why he might be lonely. Why is he standing on the cliff's edge? What can he see? What is he thinking about?



  • Think of at least 5 things that you notice or find interesting about the front cover and list them. For example:

I can see a big city. 

There are some mountains.

I notice some palm trees on the beach.
