Wednesday 6th Jan

Look at the attached picture and think about/talk about what you can see.

  • What is happening in this scene?
  • Why are the people running away? How are they feeling? What might they be saying?
  • If the  character was speaking what might it be saying?
  • Where did it come from? What will it do next?

Now use the picture of the creature and label it e.g. yellow eyes, long claws. Then think of descriptions for it and write these underneath or on the back of the sheet. Consider also what the creature might be like. For example:  It has bright yellow eyes. It looks very hairy and very tall. I think it is very scary and I would run away too.

Task 1

Watch the following book trailer:

  • What do you think now?
  • Have your ideas about the story changed? Why? Why not?
  • What do you think it is doing?
  • Where is it going?
  • Where has it come from
  • Does it remind you of anything?

Bright Lights Big City Topic (Geography lesson)

Before you watch the video:

What do you already know about the United Kingdom?

List your ideas on a piece of paper. For example, I live in England.

During the video you will be asked to have a go at drawing the outline of the UK so you will need a pencil/pen and paper ready for this activity. Good luck and don't worry - only you will see your drawing so it doesn't have to be perfect. Top tip: if you draw a tall thin rectangle faintly, this may help with the shape.
