Summer 2019 Family Homework Project

Homework will be set weekly and alternate between an English or a Mathematics task. The children will have spellings to learn each week, which will be tested in class. The spellings set are a mixture of common exception words and words that follow the statutory requirement of Year 2 spelling patterns.

A homework folder is issued to all children at the beginning of the year and we ask that homework is cleared from it at least half termly. Homework will be set on a Thursday and will need to be returned by the following Tuesday. Any homework received late may not be marked before the following weeks is set.

A mini project is set every half term relating to the current topic. The children are given a choice of three to choose from. Although homework is optional we do ask that you hear your child read regularly and note their progress in their home school diary.

Thank you for your support in helping your child to complete their homework.

Well done to the Year 2 children for their successful 'Bring and Buy' sale! The children were excellent at sorting, organising, selling and finding change!

For our topic on Land Ahoy we have been learning different sea shanties each week. Here are some of the ones we have sung.

February half term

There will be no homework or spellings set over the half term break. Please continue to read with your child, asking questions about the plot, vocabulary and characters, as well as continuing to work on the Year 1 and 2 common exception words sent home earlier in the term. Most of all enjoy the break!

Homework 7/2/19

Happy New Year and welcome back!

It was lovely to have so many of the children fresh and ready to work on Tuesday morning.

If we could just remind you to send in any P.E kits that have not already come into school s well as any junk modelling items, in particular, egg box cartons. Thank you!smiley

Apart from the spellings, there will not be any set homework this week. If you could please help your child practice the songs from the links below and practice the words of the poems they need to learn. Thank you for your help and we look forward to seeing you all at the concerts!smiley

Thank you for the fabulous applications for the School Learning Councillor roles! It has been very interesting to read the different applications and it was clear to see that the children had put a lot of time and thought into their applications!

Applications have now closed, the children have visited the Squirrels Heath Polling Station and the votes are being counted as we speak! We will keep you updated on the new School Learning Councillors!no
