x 2 Teaching Assistants

Post 1: Hours 9am – 12.30pm then 1pm – 1:30pm x 5 days a week

Post 2: Hours 9am – 12pm then 1:10pm – 2:10pm Monday – Thursday

                       10am – 12pm then 1.10pm 3.10pm Friday

                            

Salary: Grade 1/2 point 1(£9,231.30)

Contract: Temporary till July 2020

At Squirrels Heath Infant School we are committed to safeguarding children and young people and we expect everyone who works in our school to share this commitment. Adults in our school take all welfare concerns seriously and encourage children and young people to talk to us about anything that worries them.

We are looking for people who:

  • are flexible, organised and a committed team player
  • have excellent inter personal skills and the ability to relate to children and adults
  • have previous experience in an educational setting
  • have worked with pupils who have a social and communication need and experience of approaches to support them
  • may have knowledge of strategies used to develop a child’s language such as Colourful Semantics

You would be expected to:

  • work with a named pupil supporting them with their educational needs
  • work under direct supervision by the class teacher and at times be expected to use your own initiative to organise activities and tasks
  • provide feedback to the class teacher on the pupil’s progress
  • support the class teacher in planning differentiated work for the pupil
  • create resources to support the pupil’s work, as appropriate
  • participate in pupil planning and review meetings

 

 

Temporary Midday Play Leader

Hours : 11.30-1.30 pm daily

Salary: £4615.65 (annual)

Grade 1/2

Temporary till July 2020

 

We are looking to recruit a temporary lunchtime play leader to promote and lead positive and active play sessions at lunchtimes. This new post is temporary until July 2020 with the possibility of the contract being renewed. The successful applicant MUST be energetic and enthusiastic with a commitment to providing a positive lunchtime experience for all pupils. Previous experience of working with children in Physical Education is desirable. This post may benefit someone looking to pursue a further career in Sport or Teaching.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is flexible, organised and a committed team player
  • has excellent inter personal skills and the ability to relate to children and adults
  • has previous experience working with children leading games and sports activities
  • has basic first aid and health and safety awareness
  • may have a Sports qualification

You would be expected to:

  • plan a rota of games and activities for lunchtimes
  • ensure that sports equipment is available for activities and well maintained
  • actively promote, instigate and participate in positive play and games during the lunchtime period
  • support colleagues in activities where required
  • Liaise with the mid-day senior supervisor
  • Carry out wet play duties
